The story focuses on Dwayne, a cocky black lad who lives life on the edge. He earns his dosh from the underground poker scene; playing dodgy games against dodgy people. He has hustled his way to the top, along with his side kick using 'secret' sign but his luck is about to run out...
After losing a gripping high stakes poker match against a hard-core underworld criminal gang, Dwayne is left in severe financial debt. The gang leader gives him an ultimatum; pay what he owes within 24 hours or one of his family members will be killed.
Dwayne has no hope of paying back the money, but a chance meeting with a homeless man, Sidney, presents him with a potential solution. A plan begins to form...If Dwayne can convince the criminal that the homeless man is a member of his family, he can then offer them the killing they crave for, thereby also settling his debt.
Dwayne sets about befriending the Tramp and invites him to come and stay in his home. Sidney willingly accepts, grateful for a roof over his head and innocently unaware that Dwayne's hospitality is far from genuine.
Dwayne stages various scenarios whereby he grooms the homeless man and photographs them hanging out together. Dwayne subsequently mounts the photograph on the wall, ensuring the gangster will clearly see that the Tramp is part of his family and someone whom he is particularly close to.
The 24 hours deadline draws nail bitingly nearer and Dwayne has obviously not paid back his financial debt. The gangster makes his way to Dwayne's home, hunting for his beloved 'family member'. Dwayne is in dilemma, should he come clean with the Tramp or continue the pretence of brotherly love...but to what cost and to what end?
